Sauðleysuvatn covered in snow just under 1km2 is an unusually deep lake at 56 meters deep. The lake itself is at 576 meter altitude. Surrounded by the mountains of Sauðleysur, 925 and 842 meters high. You can see Mt.Krakatindur and Mt.Hekla in the distance. Road in the background covered in snow leads into Landmannahellir and if you zoom in your can see all the houses there.
